Wow, I never realized that she and I were both under 5'. Then again, other than those e-mails she sent me when you and her first started dating, I only met her the one time when Aunt Betty and Catherine (?) were visiting you in State College and Aunt Betty saw me and started talking to me for afew minutes.

I have spent 10 years of my life loving two women. One broke my heart (though I certainly accept my own share of culpability, too), and one is in the process of doing so. Ten years, and with such stellar results. Wow, that’s sobering.

Have you taken a look at me lately? 10 years and... uhm. Let's just say there's way to many notches on the old bedpost, and they're NOT all from relationships. I think 5 were/are actual boyfriends. I'm pathetic, really. At least now I've managed to get things somewhat on track...

I could but that doesn't have the same literary quality to it. Kind of made it sound more exotic to me when I wrote it. Because I aim to please, though, I (sort of) made the change.

Ugh, and now one of Counting Crow's songs is being used as a theme song for a new TV show on NBC. ouch.

[...] Two days in a row my posts are also song titles. Go figure. The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Californication was a good album. Yes, it was pretty commercialised (see my previous post), but those boys can still rock out, I don’t give a shit. [...]

Good point. Counting Crows' "August & Everything After" was pretty damned close to a masterpiece, but how did they get from there to "Accidentally In Love"? As for DMB, I can't say I listen to them much any more nor do I really follow them too much either, so I don't feel qualified to give an opinion one way or the other.

Mariah Carey was whoring it up on Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve (as an aside, that was so sad and painful to watch, how they trotted that poor man out there. I don't want to remember him that way... I hoped "The $25000 Pyramid" would be on GSN, but alas it wasn't). She's still lookin' good into her late 30s but her music is and for the most part always has been shitty. Does Charlie's grandfather have dementia?

I'm not liking this whole "getting old" thing, either. This year will be most of my freinds 10 yr high school reuinion...and ours is NEXT year. Hard to belive, eh?

As far as music goes, all "modern" music is mostly crap, IMHO. I havent' even heard of some of theband s you just mentioned, though I do agree that Nickelback does repeat the exact same songs over and over. Same key, same bass. SAME DAMN SONG. I've seriously mistaken their new song for one of their older songs.

Alternative Rock is dying...made even more evident by Y100 being shut down/turned into a (c)Rap station. Even bands like Counting Crows, and Dave Matthews Band seem to be churning out pop tunes as opposed to the alternative rock songs we grew up listening to.

*shakes head* Apparently Mariah Carey was a half time (Freak) show recently, and Charlie's grandfather watched it. I had to endure several HOURS of him talking to me about Mariah Carey and how he couldn't understand what she was singing at the family Christmas party.

*Sigh* Welcome to the adult world? I think.
